TROY, Mich. Delphi has added six remanufactured
diesel injectors and five diesel injection oil pumps to its diesel systems
portfolio, covering almost 1.5 million light-duty Ford trucks (F-250 to F-550)
on the road today.
Four of the diesel injectors include a 7.3-liter Hydraulic
Electronic Unit Injector (HEUI), representing the latest in diesel technology.
During remanufacture, each injector is completely disassembled, cleaned and
examined for wear and breakage. The nozzle, solenoid, screws, check balls,
O-rings, armature screw, NOP spring, shim and stop are replaced with 100
percent new parts. After all critical components and worn-out or nonfunctioning
parts are replaced with new parts, each injector is reassembled and tested to
OE standards for compliance in fuel delivery, injection pressure and timing,
Delphi says.
The five new diesel injection oil pumps, which are geared to
support each of the remanufactured injectors, supply high-pressure oil to the
intensifier side of the HEUI injector. Each is tested for proper pressure and
operating parameters to help ensure the pressure meets OE specifications. The
pumps are manufactured with new seals and O-rings, then tested and inspected to
ensure quality and durability.
