I have a 1995 Ford Ranger and the windshield wipers come on sometimes by themselves. Also, the interior light takes forever to go off (and gets extremely hot). We took the bulbs out because we were afraid it would catch on fire.

I have a 1995 Ford Ranger and the windshield wipers come on sometimes by themselves. Also, the interior light takes forever to go off (and gets extremely hot). We took the bulbs out because we were afraid it would catch on fire. Thanks for any help you can give me.

The circuit board for the wiper motor was a problem on early Rangers. Other common problems were the door switches for the courtesy lights. They are very inexpensive; replace both of them.
