MOINES, Iowa – Icas Computer Systems, a longtime provider of business
management software for aftermarket distribution companies, and
GCommerce Inc. have developed a joint electronic document interchange
(EDI) solution that is designed to enable automotive aftermarket
distributors, in both the U.S. and Mexico, to exchange electronic
purchase orders (POs), acknowledgements and advance shipping notices
(ASNs) with hundreds of aftermarket manufacturers. GCommerce provides
Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) EDI solutions designed to streamline
distribution supply chain operations.
EDI technology enables
distributors to reduce the extra time and expense, as well as eliminate
potential errors, associated with exchanging procurement
documents/information via fax, voice communication, e-mail or mail.
This new bundled solution from Icas and GCommerce will allow
distributors to electronically generate and send purchase orders, and
the manufacturer to send acknowledgements and ASNs, directly from/to
their PaceSetter Systems. The new solution requires no additional
hardware, translation software or monthly fees for the distributor,
according to the two companies.
